i was wondering if you guys could suggest a nice hatchet for me. its going to be used heavily outdoors from camping to hunting.
heres what im looking for:

full tang

somewhat weather proof

price range: up to $150 maybe alittle more

so if you have any ideas or you think i should look into something else please let me know.
oh and i already have a cold steel trail hawk and trench hawk so im not really looking for a tomahawk, just a heads up. thanks

Get an Estwing, you will have a hatchet that is indestructable and weatherproof and well cheaper than $150

Junk shops, antiques shops, the bay. For way under your budget you'll get a better tool.

Regards

Robin

Do you care about handle shape or materials? Estwing axes only have a lower handle portion, unlike the ones from JK or some others. Lots of the full tang hawks are for breaching and fighting, so the handles may go up to the head, but they are heavier and often less sharp. They could be re-ground to be better wood choppers.
But, you have hawks, I'd look at Eswing as well, if you want full tang, or the mentioned JK offerings.
Bark River made one, but that would have to be found used.

For a user check out the currently available Swiss Surplus Kitchen Hatchet. Fantastic F&F, comfy, user sharp from the box, and cleans up fast to a shaving edge. Comfy little beater for 20 bucks. I'd suggest finding a nice Swedish 20 inch bushcraft axe though... I find the 14-16 inch handle size a bit funky. Might just be my sore joints...
