Hatchula sheath

Picked up a Hatchula from Dylan a few weeks ago and now I am in need of a sheath. Can anyone share what they have done or recommend someone who could do one, preferrably without having to ship my blade out. I am thinking kydex - thanks

Really no way of making a good fitting kydex without shipping out the knife. Leather on the other hand is a different story. You may be able to send someone a cutout of the blade to have one made. I completely understand not wanting to send the knife off. I just picked up a DF from Doc and boy was the shipping high, not to mention having to go through customs and such.

I am hoping someone else did the leg work and I can just contact that sheath maker and get them to duplicate the design. If anybody has one please let me know. Cheers!

If you want to do kydex traditionally you have to have the blade to make it "Form Fitting" If the kydex maker has the knife already he should be able to make one from his own knife, but this might be unlikely because these are not production knives. it looks like sheaths are being offered on the fletcher site. You could ask if he could make you one with the next batch he makes. But i don't know.

I've been wondering about this, myself. That's next on the list, the Hatchula, so I was curious what kinda sheaths everyone's using. You making them yourself, Dylan?

I actually do not make sheaths for this knife. In my opinion, kydex is not the right material for this sheath. It's just too hard to get everything right on this blade with kydex and you end up with an inadequate sheath. My suggestion is to have a leather guy make you a leather sheath for the Hatchula.

Here are a couple of people I know do excellent leather work.

Oh, and I'll be contacting you soon, once I decide between hatchula I and II, and scales and all that good stuff. Tax check coming soon haha.

Thanks Dylan!

If anybody else is in the same position feel free to message me, maybe we could get a few guys to go in on a small order (assuming we could agree on a basic design) by doing this we could avoid having us all sending our blades away and it might save us some $$.
