Hatin!!

Are you talking about a production version? The custom version has been available for over a year.

There is a pre-order for it in the Special Runs section. Sucks that I have to pay tax.. End up around $360.00 after tax for me. Dang I'm going to be even more broke after this:rolleyes:! I had looked earlier today and this must have just went up on the site.

Wow! I like that more than the Persian, but my Emerson savings account is empty.

I know how you feel man... Even though it is a special run knife, it's pretty pricey. Not really sure how it's almost 60 buckeroos more than the Tiger.

So far I've bought a BT & SF version of the first two special runs, but I'm going to pass on this one. I don't like protruding curved lower grips, just don't feel like I can get a secure hold on them, like the handle is resisting my grip. That's why I sold my Patriot even though I LOVED the blade.

I really like the look of this one, are special runs like this hand ground? Not sure I can justify this one.

Damnit. I just put a nice chunk of money into my CD. I sure as hell hope they're still available by next February.

It looks like a specwar handle with a Persian blade. Very cool.

Edited to add:

Been staring at it for a few minutes. At first, I thought "there's no way I can justify paying that price" but the more I look at it, the more the design is calling to me. I always thought that the Persian's blade was one of the best fighter folder designs ever, but the handle doesn't fit me just right.

Emersonrep:

Are these likely to ever be available as a regular production item, or is this definitely a limited run?

Also, are pre-orders guaranteed, or is there a chance they'll run out and won't be available?

For now it is a limited run and a pre-order is a guarantee unless the website changes to out of stock. At that point there will be a waiting list.

Are the special runs just for collector purposes? Or are they testing the waters for possible production models?
After hearing Ernie talk about how fast they can setup to do a production run from hand drawing, to CAD to cutting parts (I think he said just a few hours), I'd sure love to see some of these recent special runs become regular staples and get into shops. I love my Emersons but I won't pay direct from the factory prices.
Loving the designs coming out of the shop for sure.

Any knife coming out of the factory is meant to be used. Testing the waters? Not sure about that. Technically the Hatin IS in production. The first batch just happens to be smaller than other models. I would say since they're are being released in small batches that they would be more collectable than a 7 of course.

I like! A little more pocket friendly than the Persian I imagine.
