I met a good friend of my friend tonight for a few beers and learned that he has been working EMS in NYC for the last 14 years. So I had to ask him if he'd had to cut any seatbelts while on the job and he replied, "Yes, many." So now I had to ask, "What do you carry?" And he whipped out a fully serrated Spyderco, I believe it was a police model. I loved it, to him it was just a tool, nothing to be scared of. He didn't know much about knives and had been carrying the same one for about 10 years. He said that a while ago the pocket clip broke and that Spyderco repaired it No Questions Asked. I checked the knife out a bit, smooth opening, rock solid lockup, no noticeable blade play. Maybe it could have been a bit sharper but if he had to cut my seatbelt off to save my life I would have complete confidence in that knife. I really haven't gotten into Spydercos, I'm more of a Benchmade guy, but this impressed me and made me want to thank Sal and his crew at Spyderco for producing rock solid reliable tools, that are also great looking knives. Thanks.

Nice. I've always been a Benchmade fan (still am), but recently found a fondness for Spyderco especially the Caly 3. Simple yet beautiful knife.

I've been EDCing a Calypso Jnr in ZDP for at least 2 years now, maybe more, and use it regularly, maybe a dozen times a week on average and its in as good shape now as it was the day I got it.

Difficult to go past Spyderco when you're talking value for money.

Personally I'm way more into old school slipjoint pocketknives these days, but I still have a few Spydies and I have profound respect for Sal and his company and I always recommend a Spyderco to friends looking for a one-hand opening, single-blade folder. Hats off, indeed!

Spydercos are what sucked me into Bladeforums in the first place. I still like and carry the brand. EDC has been a Caly III lately. I'm about to buy a Saver for kayaking, and as soon as those H1 Utility fixed blades hit the market, one of them must be mine.

Me too! However it goes deeper than just the knife. When you have a company which is successful, top of the line, and highly sought after in the marketplace, there's a reason. A man with a passion for fine cutlery, compassion for humanity, intelligence, and integrity unsurpassed just has to be successful! Sal is one of those people!!!!

While on a trip to Chicago I noticed (2) of the pocket clip screws on my CF Cricket were missing. I use it as a money clip. I got on my laptop and sent an email to Spyderco asking if they could sell me some new screws? The next morning I had an email from Spyderco asking for my mailing address. 3 days later I received an envelope with several new screws and a nice letter from Spyderco regarding the best way to install them so they don't lossen again. All this at absolutly NO CHARGE!!!! Great Folks & Awsome Service there at Spyderco!!!!

Heh! Bladeforums is what sucked me into Spyderco!

More than ten years ago, with no particular interest in knives except carrying one for utility, I came across BF as a source for good information about pliers based multi-tools, which had just then caught my attention. At the time, a SAK was the only pocket knife I owned. It had been all I needed or wanted for decades, but then, on an outdoor weekend, a fellow camper's Leatherman PST caught my attention. I really liked the concept and started researching. In the course of this, I noticed much favorable comment about other types of pocket knives and in following up, got introduced to the world of quality one-handed folders, really tuned in to Spyderco, and you can fill in the rest.

Formerly, I never even heard the word "Knifeknut," and now I are one. :D

I just got in my first Byrd Cara Cara w/Zytel handles today and am very impressed. Had it been my very first folder, there's a decent chance I would have seen no reason to buy another folder. For twenty bucks, who could ask for anything more?

I only have one Spyderco, a Military, in CPM D2. But that one has so impressed me that I feel sure there are more in my future. Especially if they make a Millie in S90V or CPM D4.

I carry an Atlantic Salt while on Duty every now and then. It makes a terrific rescue folder. I find the frn Spydies that Seki kicks out are always the most consistent lock backs produced. Even more so that the Golden models.

Hi Theonew,

Thanx for taking the time and thanx for the kind words.

Thanx also to all for the kind words. I am humbled. I am also fortunate to have such a great crew, and honestly, it is they that deserve the credit.

I own one Spyderco- one of those Wal-Mart Natives that I picked up while on vacation- just before the price increase. It is a very solid, very smoothe little knife. Well made too.
I've got my name in on the DKPK Around The World Pass Around in the Spyderco Forum- I can't wait to try that knife out- I know it's going to be an experience.

My EDC is a red-box Benchmade Pika- I like the blade shape more--> but there are a lot of nice Spydercos too.

i've got a caly 3 on the way for christmas from wife. can't wait to slip in pocket on christmas eve :)

love spyderco. i've had quite a few over the years and even though i got to other brands now and then, i keep coming back to the spyderco's. great stuff.
