I am looking for a nice fedora and "Greek fishermans cap". I usually wear ball caps, but want to get something nice for work (office), or for special occassions. These are the two styles I like the most, and would like to get something durable, top of the line. I picked up a Greek fishermans cap, I believe, at Burlington Coat Factory a couple years ago. Forget the name, but it is a great hat. I had a fedora when I was a kid, but pretending to be Indiana Jones probably destroyed it.

I've looked at Joseph A Bank, a local tailor. I've looked at Burlington also. Any ideas or comments on what to get and where to get it, would be helpful. Thanks.

The greek fishermans cap is not exactly what I am looking for, but something similar. It was popular during the 30's, my grandfather and great uncles had them. If I find a pic, I will post it.

If you're not too far from the Baltimore inner harbor, and Hats In The Belfry is still there, they have a wide range of hats.

If you want top of the line, this is the best, you can do, even though you can spend more:

These are around $300.00, they are very soft.

I prefer these for myself, because they wear like iron:

The stiff beaver blend is 50% rabbitt/50%beaver. It will outlast you.

Maybe I should change that. No more than 100.00USD for a fedora. Thanks for the information though STeven. I like that site.

BTW, thanks for the link jacknife. Also, are fedoras regularly missing the wide brims?

Okay, I think what I am looking for is a DRIVER/IVY cap? Pub/Duckbill cap?

If you want a Fedora for around $100.00 that is worthwhile, a Stetson or Dobbs might suit. If it is not a fur fedora, it is not worth having, unless you want a Panama hat.
