Is anybody here familiar with these knives? are they worth the money?

Does anyone know what is a MVS-8 steel like? similar to which other steel?

Thanks for the reply not2sharp.I appreciate it. It looks like the steel ought to be very good, fine grained steel. (to me even non-improved ,ordinary A 8 would do) I wonder why these apparently excellent knives aren't much more mentioned here,at the bladeforums.

Junglee is a relatively recent brand for the long established Gutman Cutlery Co. The Hattori is probably their top end knife, unfortunately they don't have a comparable selection of folders and about 80% of our members are primarily into folders. That is why you don't see much about them.

I think Junglee are some of the most underrated knives in the industry. They are all made in Seki, Japan (obviously the Hattori fighter is made by Hattori.) The folders are well made, have excellent fit and finish and sell for a song compared to comparable Japanese made knives from other sources. The Hattori fighters are among the nicest and most attractive fixed blade knives available. I've always wondered why Junglee didn't elicit more attention. I think it is because they (Gutmann Cutlery) don't use "name brand" designers and have a fairly unproductive approach to advertising and marketing. These knives are priced in the same ball park as CRKT but are Japanese instead of Taiwanese and should cost more. They are a good buy. The Hattori Fighters are also good buys. Take care.

Thank to all for your commnets-all apreciated.

Knife Outlet, could you tell me what's the blade thickness of Hatorri fighters?
