This may be blasphemy around here, and it may even be in the wrong forum..........but I want to know peoples thoughts on the Havalon fillet knives with the replaceable blades.

First off, I am a adequate sharpener. I am able to keep all my edc, hunting, kitchen, and razors hair popping sharp but for some strange reason I have never been able to find a fillet knife that stays sharp for me. I've tried everything from cheap Wal-Mart blades to $100+ customs. I am about to throw in the towel and try the Havalon's with the disposable blades. Does anyone here use them?

I understand if you don't want to admit to it on a public forum, you can PM me if you wish to remain a closet user. :D

Fallkniven has nice filet knives in VG10, but they are really boning knives. Warther has some in S35V at a decent price. Bark River is coming out with one in S35V, but it is probably going to be much more expensive than the others I mentioned. I haven't tried the one you mentioned, but can recommend the Warther "outdoor" fishing knife in S35V. They make a smaller one and one that is larger, 6".
