I don't know what to get! Arrrrrrr!
And I'm not interested in the Swamp Rat or Basic models. I want the Real Deal!

What I would use most are small knives 3.5-5". I like flat-ground blades. If the Satin Jack was a 5" knife I would probably get one because my buddy has one and I'm REALLY impressed with it.
I'd LOVE a good neck knife that's as small as possible.

I like the Killer B but I'm not sure about that wrapped handle. It doesn't look too tough - like little abrasions would mess it up quickly.

Jeez. I've never bought a high-end knife and I'm getting ready to buy TWO!
My-oh-my. I don't know what to do.

Do any of them come with sheaths with pocket clips so I can clip one on my inside coat pocket this winter? That's what I'd REALLY like to do. Do any of them come stock with a variety of carry options?

Honestly, I don't camp much any more. I'm a city/office guy now. I'd like 2 knives I could CARRY a lot without frightening people (too much).

What will I be using it for? I don't know. Nothing. Anything. They'll just make me HAPPY! Know what I mean? Understand?

Could get an assault shaker and a public defender and a badger attack all for around that price. Then you have covered a small knife that you can stick in the coat pocket(though you would have to have a different sheath made for a clip), and you have a real nice little work knife in the Badger attack, and you have the defender to play with/carry for utilty/defence.

I second what MSCHWOEB said. You could get all three of those for under $550. The BAIII is basically a Satin Jack with a shorter blade, exactly what you want. As far as the sheaths with pocket clips, it will cost you a little more. You can send them off to BuyBrown sheaths and he will take care of you. Also keep in mind that for that price you could get a Natural Outlaw variant which would be SWEET!!!

Hey fol...

Don't worry about that.. The cord wrap is Well done, and touch enough..You won't wreck it, unless you are doing something extreme..

As far as carry options go...

I can take care of carry options for you....

As far as which two knives???

My personal favorites are the NO and Badger Attack E.. That may change with the Badger III...

All good knives,, picking two will be a chore..

I just took delivery on a Killer B, and I agree that this is a much stouter blade that one might be led to believe. The cord-wrapped handle - as mentioned by Eric - is nothing to worry about. It's puh-lenty tough.

I also have an Assault Shaker, and am very pleased with it. It's about as robustly built as you'll find in a concealment/neck knife.

There's also going to be a new Shaker coming out; the Pepper Shaker. It has a swedge, and an "armor piercing" tip. I understand the finish will also be different....

Cors isn't nearly as cut or abrasion as Micarta, however it can take a decent amount of grinding without falling apart. However it is fairly difficult to clean, and some things are really nor practical as certain debris is near impossible to remove unless you want to boil / bleach the grip.

For that price (~500$) you can get a custom knife made in that blade length. I would call up Busse and explain exactly what you are looking for in as much detail as possible and see what he comes up with. You should be able to get the best knife possible by having one made to your specific requirements.

I would have to say it all depends on your projected use. For me the best size is the Natural Outlaw. Second would be the BAIII. I have every current production Busse and these would be my choices. I like the sounds of the upcoming Pepper Shaker.

I HAVE DECIDED!
1. Assault Shaker
2. Killer Bee (with optional sheath)
3. Natural Outlaw

Normark, I may take you up on some more "Carry Options" offer later.

I'm pretty excited about the Assault Shaker. I hope it conceals on me OK. I'm pretty short and have a belly, so things tend to print under my shirt if they hang down far enough to rest on that belly.:o

I think the cord wrapped handle is epoxy impregnated. Call Jerry and check.
I'd say so too. Pretty darn hard. I can't dent it with a fingernail. Not so much so that it looks shiny though, like some.

Killer Bee is retired but maybe you can get one on
the secondary market. I just picked up a black
wrapped handle for 175.00
Good Luck:)

There is no upcoming "Pepper Shaker". That is a variant of the Assualt Shaker offered almost a year ago. It is not a new model. Some people are just still waiting for thiers.:) The Killer B has been discontinued as well. I would go with the Public Defender in it's place. The penetrator tip is normally a $75 option that is standard on this model.
