First off I'm not a cheap skate, I just wasn't planning on buying anymore knives for a while, but now I have this gift card...

So my bank gave me a $10 amazon gift card for completing some survey. Naturally I was browsing for inexpensive knives, and I came across the Boker Plus cattleman's Knife for something like $13. I haven't read/heard anything about it though, and I am still undecided on what to purchase.

I am willing to spend an additional $10 for a total of $20, since I wasn't planning on buying anymore knives soon. But may as well burn up this gift card, what do you all suggest?

Try one of the Byrd line of knives associated with Spyderco, I hear they're exceptional budget knives

Please stay on topic by discussing "traditional knives" in this forum in the future.

byrd are good, but not traditional. if you are willing to pony up 18 you can get a peanut yella cv with free shipping

Yeah I was looking at some of the peanuts, I don't have one yet, but I do have a small Imperial Jack that is similar. The other thing I don't have is a proper sodbuster. I can get the Case American Workman in blue for 18 plus shipping on there, but if I want a yellow one its almost 2x as much :(
So for the same price I can get a Queen Country Cousin in D2, or a Case in CV. hmm decisions decisions

You have only mentioned USA made knives, and with a $20 dollar budget and limited to Amazon for your marketplace, you really don't have that tough of a choice in traditional folders made in the USA since there are probably less than 5 to choose from under your cap (OK, slight exaggeration).

You really will have a tough choice if you will entertain an import (Chinese). Personally I would try one of the Buck imported traditional knives, probably the 0371BRS 3 7/8" Stockman.
You know Buck has your back if you were to get a lemon.

Rough Rider has hundreds to choose from, great knives. The Case yeller peanut sounds good.

Regards

Robin

Fellas, this is a forum dedicated to the discussion of traditional knives. Not amazon.com, not vendors, not the balance in your gift certificate account etc.
If you wish to discuss traditional knives, do so here. Some of the other suggestions bandied about here are not appropriate for this forum.
To the OP: If you wish to open a thread to discuss specific traditional knives or ask for suggestions about those knives within a certain price range please do so. Leave the vendor account info out of it please.
