Yup...I am nuts. But I like 'em. Short ,wicked kickass knives. When it comes to to a knife that can do it all , and you don't want to carry the length of a longer blade, they can't be beat. They are both great knives , but I just had to order the Esee as well.
I have considered the Junglas also, but I do own a BK-9 that I like to take care of the heavy chopping.
When I first held a 5 ,it just fit right .And, I like batonning.
Tell me I'm not nuts for having two 1/4" blades. ( The Becker stays in the Jeep for an emergency tool.)
:)

:D I own both and in my opinion they are very similar in length, blade thickness, and weight. There is nothing wrong in having both, it is being prepared.:D

Thanks fellas. Prepared no doubt !

I'm still in my right mind to get more Esee,s though. I just like them so much , and the support and comaraderie here is great !

As long as your happy, that is all that matters. Whether someone thinks you are nuts or not.. the knifenuts won't. A normal person.. well, anyone who carries a knife is to them. ;)

Nice choice. I try and never find an excuse for additional knives, but I will always try and find new reasons I need one!! ;)

My reason is that I want a heavy-duty knife in two places. One in my vehicle ( because I don't keep my B.O.B bag there in case of break-in) , and the other in the gear bag. It's my CYA way of thinking.( Cover your ass.):D

I was a bit concerned with keeping my Get Home Bag in the car too. If it gets stolen it will suck. BUT, if I ever needed to make the long walk home in an emergency, that backpack has the gear and supplies to get me there. Wouldn't do me much good at home.

And no I don't think you're nuts for ordering a 5. :D

Hiwa,

You'll love it. I just got my 5 and I do. I'm going to do some camping tasks with it tomorrow, in the backyard. I'll see if I get to the bow drill. :-)

You can bolt a cheapy tool box in your trunk and put a combo lock on it. If someone just was digging through quick you'd be safe.

If they stole your whole car you have big issues anyway.
