Here's wishing forumites a grand time at the East Coast Custom Knife Show this weekend in NYC.

Let us know your impressions of the show and what you brought home. Pics are always appreciated.:)

This will be my first show. Any advice?

You are in for a treat. You'll see a wide variety of some of the very finest knives. You'll find knifemakers and purveyors who are very happy to discuss their wares and let you handle them. And, I've found ECCKS and NYCKS great for meeting folks from this forum as well. Have fun.

not to sound like a greedy bastard, but what about the prices at the show? Are they significantly higher than internet?

i'm going to the ECCKS tomorrow -- my first custom knife show. i too would like to know about prices in general at these kind of shows. are they comparable to what the custom knifemaker sells them for online, or are they significantly higher (or lower)?

also, i realize this is a custom show, but are there typically any production knives available? like collaborations between a well-known knife maker and a well-known knife manufacturer (e.g., Jerry Hossom and Spyderco, Darrel Ralph and Camillus)?

You'll find very few production knives at the show, and the handmades usually go for the same price on the internet and at the show.

dealers often times have them...the prices are generally higher there as they have to cover the fees for their tables and the space + the hotel room. the dealers and knife makers get hit pretty hard in the prices.

I will be there tomorrow, Id like to meet some of you folks!

Look for The JerzeeDevil gear ;)
