Hey guys I just got a brand new Gayle Bradley. It doesnt seem to hold a edge that well. I only have a sharpmaker and preceded to put a 20* microbevel on it for time being. On the one side of the bevel upon inspection with a microscope it looks like theres a type of shiny burr along the whole edge. But I dont believe it is actually a burr.

I thought maybe to was a wire edge which Ive never had but I looked up on how to remove one and tried it and didnt seem to work. I can get the knife very sharp, phone book paper slicing sharp but it doesnt hold a edge long at all. I only have exprience sharping vg-10, tiny bit of s30v and a bunch of chinese steels.

I dont know whats going on. Ive tried resharpening it 3 or 4 times and its the same thing everytime.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Sharpen with the medium rods or diamond rods then microbevel with the UF rods M4 seems to do best with a microbevel.

What are you cutting that is causing the dulling?
