I like the look and feel of the original Leatherman tools... like the new ones too, but like burnished steel and the clean lines of the older one.

As mentioned I have the Sideclip and PST and am deciding on what is the next one I should keep a look out for. I like the smaller size tools and am keeping an eye out for a nice Mini if one comes up. Any other of the original line you all suggest? Maybe the 200?

Ps. I have the Micra.. not a huge fan of it, a little too small in my opinion to be useful.

If you see a Pulse for a decent price, they are great tools as well. Of course no longer made, but still with the old style rolled edges, and clean fit and finish.

Those are all great tools, and if Leatherman had kept only those and the original Super Tool in their lineup, I would still happily use them. But in terms of features, the current ones are better, IMHO.
I know a successful dairy owner who, for as long as I have known him, has always carried a 1980s PST on his belt, both during his daily production work and when in business clothes. He wore out 2 of those really good leather sheaths Leatherman supplied for them and on his third when we met. He could afford anything he wanted, but said he had no need for anything else. Last year, after not seeing him for a while, I chanced into him at a supermarket where he was setting up a display of his products and noticed a different sheath on his belt. When I asked, he replied that a Super Tool 300 resided within. Locking blades and superior heft won him over. So things change and trade-offs are made.

Everything is relative, also personal. In the the last 20 years, I have made several changes in my multi-tool lineup, but the my constant companion has been a Micra. It pairs well with whatever larger m-t is on me and a useful stand-alone when necessary. The slotted screwdriver fits some of my frequently encountered loose screws perfectly, the p-h well enough, and all the implements get used, mostly with success. If I'm wearing pants, there is a Micra in one of the pockets.
