Have any of you ever added serrations to a smooth blade?

I have no plans to do it, it simply occurred to me that someone may have done this.

Not on purpose

It could be done of course, but it would be a fair amount of work to do it right, just to get something that's most likely already available.

Yes, I have. It was done to a 9" carving knife to give a bread knife to her kitchen set. I did it with a Nicholson 1/8" round file. The work was slow going as the kitchen set was of decent quality. Now, she has a good bread slicer. DM

I had my local knife shop put Spyderco serrations on my LM juice. I only carry plain edge knives, so I like my multi tools to have serrated blades.
