The Diamond Life hone blocks that Harbor Freight sells have always been decent, though they needed broken in sometimes. By this I mean that some of the grits of hone needed to be used a bit to expose enough diamonds for the hone to "act its grit."
However, I just got my father one of the 4-sided Diamond Life hone blocks with the plastic base, and all four hones were perfect.
I'm just wondering if this one was a fluke, or if they are getting better in general?
