I know a lot of the knives now are made by other makers and the firearm company name is simply placed on them for marketing reasons.

Have any gun companies actually made the knives with their names on them?

Did Remington actually make the old WWI bayonets that bear their names? That seems like a possibility. Older Colt bayonets maybe? I know those aren't knives but the closest I could come.

It wouldn't surprise me. The idea of slapping your name on an inexpensive sub-par product made in China and calling it your own is only a relatively modern trend ;)

I know its not quite what your looking for but just a fun fact. Hogue makes their own knives.

And in the case of microtech, a knife company started making guns!

But most of them don't make their own, they just sell their names to other companies

S&W - taylor cutlery
Bond arms- buck vantage pro
H&K - BM
Daniels Defense - Spyderco Manix 2

etc etc

If I'm reading it correctly, according to the Standard Catalog of S&W 3rd Edition, S&W made their knives from around 1972 until sometime in the mid 1980's when they sold the operation to Vermont Knife Co.

Oh yeah and I think Keltec does too

Sure wish Kimber would make one...if it would be made anything like their pistols, I'd be all over one.:D

It's funny; a number of those listed so far are not made by the company selling them (Beretta, for example, hasen't actually made their knives in decades).

But gun manufacturers have made knives also. A quick search thru the Traditional or Bernard Levine's sections will give you dozens of examples. Don't forget the European companies (Mauser, et al).

There have been quite a few companies that have made "parts" for guns that have made knives. Marbles, Warne .... do a search.
