Have gotten away from deep carry clips.

I'd like to find a shorter one for my Protech TR5..even thought about modifying it.
Ordered a shorter Ti one for my Launch 4. That thing is almost the length of the knife!
Anyone else dislike deep carry clips?

Depends on my setting for the day. Deep carry can be almost needed due to the audience. Color of the clip matters too. I don’t have any use for the super long ones.

I don’t dislike them
Actually a knife correctly design with a deep carry clip can be great, like the mass drop Gent for exemple

However I don’t look after deep carry clip as much as I did in the past

I like a good clip , deep or not, I don’t care anymore

Like any clip, it needs to be strong and not create hot spots.

Living in the Corrupted Communist State of Illinois, particularly near Chicago, a low ride, inconspicuous clip is almost necessary. My new clip for my Domino is a matte finish blue, and is nearly invisible with jeans.

I have them installed on four of my knives, and plan to add more simply to detract attention from the fact that I have something clipped to my pocket. Some knives, it's not feasible.

I mean, my TR5 deep clip is ok and comes smooth out of pocket. It depends also on how the clip is designed. The Launch 4 clip is long and horrrible deploying where the new one I ordered looks easier to pull smoothly out of pocket.

I can add that the deep carry on the BM bugout works very well for me
Whereas I am not fan of any deep carry on my ZT 0393 & 0640 for exemple

IMO it really depends on personal feelings and knife design

It just depends upon the knife.

I hated one on my Griptilian but
love it on my BM 531.

I recently put a Lynch clip on my 531 and it made it a whole new knife! BM’s split arrow clips are flaming piles of garbage.

As for deep carry clips, it depends on the knife and it’s use. Whether I’m going with a larger more tactical folder or a slimmer gent’s blade usually dictates how I like them to ride.

I used to like deep carry but now I prefer having more of the back of the knife to grab when drawing from the pocket.

Doesn't really matter to me, as long as it is done well.
I only use the clip while I'm at work, since the Corrupted Communist State of Norway hates knives being carried if you don't have a damn good reason.

I found a knife vertical in my pocket uncomfortable, especially when riding my bicycle. They kept poking my in the thigh.
I just carry a traditional or two in the bottom of my pocket.

Clips are not something that I really think about other than I like them to work. If I carry a knife with a clip, I clearly don't care if anyone sees the clip. The clipped knife is usually in a back pocket with my SAK in either the front pocket or watch pocket.

I prefer a deep carry if feasible. Just put a new Lynch on my Bugout today. Part of it is just the act of making a knife my own as well. I like to put a bit of my personality into things I carry. Straps on watches are the same sort of deal for me.

My knives are in my cargo pockets most of the time with no clip.

Some people do deep carry right, some don't. I usually have learned to live with the clip given to me.

I, quite frankly, am too cheap to buy a custom, deep carry pocket clip most of the time.

Anyone else dislike deep carry clips?
What's a deep carry clip ? ? ?
Just kidding.
Nah I couldn't care less. I do prefer longer clips because they deal with a wider variety of things I clip my knife to from thin summer shorts to heavy work pants and winter pants.

As long as it doesn't interfere with the grip; makes no hot spots.

One long clip that worked out super well was putting the clip from a Cold Steel Holdout I (the six inch bladed Holdout) onto my Holdout III which is a very small knife. The Stock clip on the III was too short to be good for much of anything.
Often I just give up on clips and carry my knives in a belt pouch such as my Griptillian and my Ti Lites.
