I have not been online much past couple of months – having trouble with more back problems – I am disabled and have chronic pain but a couple few weeks ago something got a lot worse with sciatic. -- I am talking about fall on the floor and scream and hope you don’t crap your pants type pain.

Thankfully it only last a few seconds but sometimes several times in two or three minute span.

Just glad it doesn’t last longer I would lose my mind – I have emptied the shells from my firearms and gave them to a friend to hold - as it would be too easy to stop the pain

Also I dropped my phone and it bounced and landed in the dog’s water dish – so those of you with my phone number please call me as I lost all my numbers.

I hope to get here more often.

Peace and Health to you all –
Sincerely – Eric

Holy mackerel, that sounds intense!! I'm really sorry, dude, about your agonizing back pain. I found my phone, but then I lost it again, so I am currently on the hunt for it once more, as soon as I DO find it though, I'll definitely call you, man. My sister is a doctor and my mother a neonatal nurse, so I think I have just enough of their blood running through my veins to suggest this: REST. To me, you seem to have the mentality of a medal of honor recipient in the way that you work yourself to the bone, always doing your best to be above and beyond the call of duty. I hate to say it, but the combination of your age and your infirmity will eventually bring you down in a terrible way if you keep it up. I know I sound like a prophet of doom, but your work and volunteering sound like they could literally kill you. I mean this with all the good will in my heart: take it easy, PLEASE. The sun will still beam down on you for many years to come if you take care of yourself. I know its hard to see yourself as worthwhile sometimes, but this is your only chance on planet Earth, unless reincarnation is the real deal. You live with people, and they probably love you. Take advantage of that. Let them take care of you for a while, at least until you can get seen for this. No one should be living with such intense pain on their doorstep. I'll email you as well if I cannot find my phone. You have friends and people who care about you. Use them in your time of need, dude, there is no shame, none whatsoever, in saying you need help. I'll correspond real soon, dude. I'm concerned. Peace and health to you Eric, you can't save the world unless you save yourself first.

Sending up smoke from deep within the boreal forest. I'll even set the bush on fire this time. Chronic pain is misery, but it can be managed with a good doctor.

Life is like a canoe trip, sometimes crossing the lake looks impossible with the building squall, but hang in there and keep paddling, for sunshine and calm waters await on the quiet shore.

Rest won't help and pain management is sending drugs to chase a physical problem -- last resort kind of thing, and not a cure.

I've been doing 5 compressed discs with arthritis setting off sciatica in my left leg. Right leg has a prosthetic foot. This has been going on since last winter. Nothing succeeds like physical therapy. Heating pad - stretching - don't overdo the activity level until you start feeling the therapy kicking in.

You need to set aside two or three months where people cannot count on you to run errands. Then get to a therapist and learn what exercises work for you. I'm at the point where sometimes I can fix the pain just by standing up very straight, pulling everything back in place.

Gee guys, I really hope you all stay happy and calm deep inside. It's easier said than being done but at times i felt the pain's temporary, mental strength is a lot harder to achieve.

thanks guys - Esav yep i hear ya -- i hope i can get there with the free time thing -- i think i overdid my stretching exercises

Thanks to you all

Man, sorry to here that. Smoke up.

BTW Listen to Esav, sometimes you just have to MAKE your schedule clear, and peopl need to pound sand if they don't like it. I've learned the hard way that sometimes "me" HAS to come first.

Be well and take care of yourself my friend.
sometimes we have to make time for ourselves.

I remember a joke Tom and Ray made on car talk to some guy who was worried about a scratch on his new car...they told him what he needs in a couple really good dents in there and he wouldn't be concerned with the scratch anymore. :dread: Kinda grim but true. The spasms you got sound like a real ding...

All kidding aside, I hear ya man. Listening with care and respect. Take care bro.
