Have Paklites ever been offered in better steel?

Had the day off today and was browsing the local emporium------came across a black 140 marked down to $15 and darn it if the little bugger didn't follow me home.

Unlike what I've been reading on here, mine came out of the blister pack quite dull---a little work on the sharpmaker and the edge is usable now----still needs a little more work.

I have never even noticed these knives before and seems they would be great for camping/backpacking aside from the hunting uses and I'll probably pick up a couple more.

As nice as these little knives are, I'd gladly pay more for an upgraded steel over Buck's standard offering (which I don't care for much--probably why I haven't noticed the Paklites before--Buck REALLY needs to step up their game as far as steels go).

I think there will some in s30v this year with a red or orange coating.

Yes, they are upgrading the steel this year to S30V according to their website.

They are just the right size for a steel upgrade. I would like S30V but would be open to any upgrade.
