Guys,
Having spent most of April "fools" (or "food," depending) money for: 2 mojitos (1 a gift); Blk Almn Speed Bump; and a "Jeep" leek with the alleged Haystack Rock from Canon Beach (Oregon Edge check your PM), I decided I wanted one more before I took a break...one of the BIG boys. Then I came into enough money to get any one of these, so...

I did my homework (steel, handle material, lock type, blade shape, etc.) and, just for fun now I'm asking you which you'd get:
Offset
Tyrade
ZT0200
ZT0300

Naturally I like them all...with no serious leanings one way or the other. They're a bit too big/heavy for my EDC, but great for the hikes when I won't/don't carry a fixed blade. Basically, I want one of those four (and DON'T tell me to get all of them...I already thought of that)! You're up...

If it is to be used for camp chores and the like, go with the ZT0200. If you want a more civilized blade, the Tyrade is EXCELLENT!

Civilized? Where's SPX when I need him! :D
Seriously, I meant long hikes. For camping I always have a fixed AND a folder. Probably after 'discovering' Kershaw that'll be a fixed and three folders...

That Tyrade must be some knife. I'l dig a little deeper into that one. Thanks.

That Tyrade must be some knife.

= Webster's Definition of Understatement

The Tyrade is awesome! I have been EDCing it back and forth with my Boron Leek for weeks.

Yes, IMO the Tyrade is more civilized than the ZT0200. That doesn't make the Tyrade the chihuahua of knife breeds, and I think the Tyrade is a tough knife, but the 0200 is a TANK!

The Tyrade is a beautiful knife, but I think you will find the ZT030X to be more suitable for a hard-use role.

Interesting proposition, Gargs. You mention you have the ALBLK Bump, and the 0200 is close (not very, mind you) to it's shape and size. You also mention that you want a folder for carry whilst hiking in the woods and not carrying a fixed-blade. The key words here are "not carrying a fixed-blade". While the Tyrade is an excellent knife with new CB technology, I would be a little hesitant to beat on it the same way I would a fixed blade. Just me, I guess. So, by process of elimination, and trying to get as close to "fixed-blade" duties as you could with a folder, I'd personally pick the Offset. While the 0200 and 030X are tanks and can handle abuse, you're in the same neighborhood with the Bump. Not next door, but still in the same zip code. The Offset gives you a honker of a knife with a unique blade that is made to perform multiple tasks...

Logical reasoning with no civilization required!

Specs,
I think you nailed what was niggling around in my mind re. the Bump and others. And the offset is a bit off-the-wall and it's actually what I find attractive about it (though that 030X in the picture here is something else)!

Speaking purely for myself, barbarians use logical reasoning too. :D

ZT300, no questions asked here.

Don't get me wrong, the tyrade's nice and all, but the 300 is of another class in my mind.

And the S30V...very nice!

Yup, tough choice.

And compared to the Al Speed Bump and Mini Mojo.

I threw these together quick, so you could get a look at them all in one place.

If it weren't for the finance thing there is a lot to be said for the all of the above answer.

I have not had a Tyrade, but I've had the others. Personally, I'd go with the 0300, but that's me. I'd also throw the ZT 0500 Mudd in the mix, as that's my favorite ZT folder.

Good luck with your choice.

Great pictures! Very cool of you to go to the trouble as well.

Nice pics !
Can you also add a pic from your specbump and a leek together.I would like to know to size .

Kneedeep, Pics were incredibly helplful.

It's down to the Offset and the 0300. I like the stud lock and also the frame lock...so I cut my choices in half and with a little more 'research' should get an order in today. Although with the Offset I know the G-10 is great...I'm also strangely attracted to that paint splatter thing. And while I'm not a fan of blade stripes for some reason they seem to work on the 0300 knife where they don't on a lot of others. At least for me.

So that's where I am now. I'll let you know which I order. Great to have this kind of help and support from fellow addicts.

Thanks for the feedback, and especially for the pictures. After all of this, and with a long detour to consider the Titanium JYDII and the composite blade version...I went with the ZT0200. Reasons include the reviews, the Onion design, simplicity, thick handles, price (GREAT price for that much knife) and the thick liner lock. With thought, I didn't want the speed safe on this one but came very close to getting that TiJYDII. The good news is I'm always able to live with my decisions about knives because no matter how much I BS myself, there's always another one I'm gonna buy.
