Have they widened the KA-BAR USMC knife tang?

I was glancing through Kabar's 2018 catalog, and maybe it's just an illusion. There was one pic showing the naked tangs on two current USMC Kabar knives, and they seem to now have a wider tang than previous ones. They do state that they now saber grind them all the way up to meet with the fuller, but did not see any mention of a wider tang? Anyone know the deal on this? Thanks in advance
