i know i said i was gone, but i thought this was worth mentioning.
if you don't like it (or me) feal free to flame away.

anyways, go here: http://xikar.com/knives/xi158.asp?order_id=&p_id=XI158

only sold in cigar shops! made of cool materials. only problem, out of four i tried only one did not scrape the liner like crazy. what is this sandvik blade steel? otherwise it is cool. for $75 it would be a buy. for $130 i might think twice. made in italy alongside the better crkt's. what y'all think(about the knife)?

your humble servant,

from just a quick glance at the ad, they look ok to me, not really my cup of tea, but seem ok for $75, for $125, not so good though, too much other neat stuff for that kinda $$, unless ya just really like 'em, imho.

i have never heard of the brand, myself, FWIW

it is geared toward cigar smokers and not knife nuts. it is a company that makes cigar cutters. they do not actually make the knife. i originally thought it was like a sebenza with carbon fiber inlays(ok here come the flames). that was pretty wishfull thinking. but what you said is my sentiments exactly. for $75 i would have bought it. for $130 there is probably better. unless you just think this one is cool. after all, it is titainium and carbon fiber. i don't know much about the blade steel. but, a whole is not always equal to the sum of it's parts. nonetheless, where else can you get a knife made out of those materials, a frame lock nonetheless, for $130?

i'm waiting for everyone to wake up this morning and start bashing me!

still, your humble servant.
holdanedge.

Sandvik is swedish steel, it´s supposed to take an incredibly sharp edge easily. The rest of it´s abilities should be on par with maybe 440A.
