Hi folks

I just booked my flight to ATL for Blade. The price has been around $270 for quite a while, but when I checked today it was $166 round trip.

I booked through Expedia, but it seems everyone has the same rates. If you havent booked yet, you may want to check todays rates. This is my 3rd year to Blade and I haven't ever seen it below $200.

I hope you find a good deal as well :)

Hey, Wheeler. Are you going this year, ya bum?:D

I'm just driving there.. don't have a table but this is the first year since I've started in custom knives that I'll be able to go. I plan on having the layout marked with "must see y'all's" marked.... THEN I'll go and browse around.

Im with Will...Im just driving. Little less than 2 hours. :D

The only show I get to drive to. Usually I have to drive the 2 hours to the Atlanta Airport and then fly to where ever I am going.

Les, you're riding with me? Cool.. I can swing by there just toss whatever you're selling at the show in the back and go in the house and get us some coffee for the ride. :p

For me, it is a 15 minute drive to the airport and a "free" plane ticket (SkyMiles), so why put the miles on the car?

My wife pointed out a $99 round trip fare to Atlanta the other day, so even with a rental car it's not much more than driving. However, I flew so many years in my work, I now drive if it's less than 7-8 hours.
I can drive to the Show in about 7 hours. By the time I drive to the airport and get there a hour early, then flight time about 2 hours, then have to deal with a rental car, then drive across Atlanta in traffic to get to the Waverly. Then there's the knives I take with me. MUCH easier and relaxing to just drive, especially since flights being on schedule seems to be the exception rather than the rule these days.

After seeing what they are asking for rental cars that weekend, I may cancel my flight and drive up!!!!!! The want like $50+ a day plus all of the surcharges for a Ford Focus!!!!!

I just get a shuttle to the hotel from the airport. It is about a 12 1/2 hour drive for me.

Don, you mean to tell me you drive 10 hours to this??!

Just don't pulled over with all those big a*s bowies in your truck.

Don I think I have you beat. 13 1/2 hour trip from Oklahoma City. This year we are driving, but we split it up into two days. Since there may be MS test knives involved I will not trust the airlines to handle them, plus I get a weeks free car rental from my employer. So I can use a new vehicle and not put miles on my own. Looking forward to it.

Hmm... 2700 miles and a 39 hour drive. Sounds tempting! ;)

Don't know if I can make it this year. I'd love to... so I could just walk around and take it all in. There will be a much higher stress level involved in 2010! ;) :)

I'm driving.... All 16 freaking hours of it..... I hate dealing with airports, security, worrying about my stuff etc... Most of all I hate not having a vehicle there...

I've driven it 4 of the last 5 times and I like it much better.

I'm with you on those sentiments MT.

I used to LIKE flying but NOT lately! I rode 1100 miles in 2 days to get there last year (my first time at Blade). But riding there is half the fun! The Blue Ridge Pkwy was beautiful.

Hope to make the trip again this year:D

Yeah Jon, 10 hours and no worries about me gettin pulled. I'll probably drive
the wife's Prius. It's invisible to the Cop's, they don't even look
About 50 MPG too :D Drove to Atlanta last year on one tank and it only holds 11 gallons...
