Every time I search for someone selling one of the knives I just can my find, I end up finding one listed for half a billion dollars on eBay. Then of course eBay has their list of “similar items”. Which I can’t help but laugh about. I find the exact thing I want to buy listed for like $4000, and eBay says “you might like” this thing for $24.95 free shipping.

So, all the said, some of the pictures actually display a beautiful knife. But I have yet to pull the trigger and see what it’s like to get a $30-$150 blade from Pakistan. Just to be clear, I am not trying to promote any other sellers or items here. I ran into this rather ridiculous “hunting spear” that is very pretty in the picture. It’s completely non-functional as far as I am concerned. It’s got something like A 16 inch dagger type spear and a 20 or something inch handle for a total length of 36”.

This particular seller also has something else I would possibly buy for nothing else than decoration. But again, I really have no idea what the actual thing would look/perform like compared to the picture.

Note: Mods, if this is verboten, please move/lock/delete this thread as no rule violations were intended.

I don't think you'll get in trouble. Some posted a $50 Pakistan made war Boar. Some of the copies are ridiculously blatant

Lol, that may have been me. I did post some piece of garbage in another thread. Without links of course. It was a hideous knock off of whatever being discussed. There is a fake of everything if you look for it.

To be clear though, the stuff I was looking at wasn’t counterfeits, it was just good looking pictures.

Don’t. The knives are low grade junk. Incapable of taking an edge, made of lead-soft metal and often so poorly made as to be dangerous to the user and anyone around them.

Thanks for the info. I was not looking at a counterfeit or anything like that. I just get sucked into recommendations on the internet and then spend too long looking at pretty pictures and always end up thinking about buying something. I never have because the reviews by people who actually use knives are pretty obvious. I don’t want to be the one in the review section telling others how I wasted my money. Lol.

I purchased several Mastery Cutlery branded fixed blades of various sizes and patterns a few years back (M-Tech, Elk Ridge, etc,) as well as some cheap Chinese folders (Enlan, Ganzo). The purpose was mainly to practice reprofiling and regrinding on my 1x30”, but also with some curiosity about how bad the quality really was.

On one of the large fixed blades I rippled the primary grind before it even met the grinder. On another I chipped out the edge real bad doing some destructive testing (smacked it into the rim of a steel belted tire).

The smaller knives generally held up fine to regular use just cutting things and the regrinds gave me a lot of insight into a wise man’s mantra. He once told me: “Geometry cuts, geometry cuts, geometry cuts. That which I tell you three times is true.” 🤔

*Dingless = *what happens when you carry your TNT crossdraw and you miss the scabbard when re-sheathing

I died laughing when he deconstructed the knife and talked about them " Tack Welding " the blade into it's handle.
