Have you ever went too the field and shot a deer or small game, than you realize you forgot your field knife and had too use a pocket knife too field dress. This happened to me the other day and my buck 503 prince field dressed the deer with no problems. Has this happened to anyone else?

Not exactly, Jdailey, BUT: I did forget my Buck 102 in the woods when I was 15. I never did remember where it was and it's missing to this day! ((( :D )))

:o
the trials and tribulations of cutting up a sambar stag on the side of some godforsaken mountain, miles from the 4wd, with a cheap no name pocket knife, which naturally became blunt after 3 strokes galvanised me into the thought process that the second thing that goes in to the 4wd is a couple of GOOD knives,

the first thing in the 4wd.. dunny paper! :D
cheers

i used to carry a buck fixed blade in the glove box for hunting, but got pulled over one day and when i went too get the registration, there it was and the cop wasnt happy to say the least. Lol, but i need to put it back in there for just in case.

I drove 15 miles to go pheasant hunting and forgot my shells. I stopped by a farm and told the farmer about it and he loaned me a box.

I can't say I've ever been without a knife.

Going hunting requires 1) weapon 2) method to clean game 3) survival equipment.

Using the pocket knife to do the job should get us all to thinking whether the "game" knife was even needed. Nonetheless, all knives should be on you - not in the jeep, or forgotten on the table where you loaded up. When you get dressed and fill your pockets with all that other stuff - cell phone, wallet/tag holder, chapstick, EDC flashlight, handkerchief, spare magazine - put the knife where it goes, too.

You never know, you might just get up in the treestand and realize you forgot your rifle just as a 10 pt buck ambles by, but with your trusty knife, you could take the jump . . .

Never forgotten my knives, but back in the late 70's we were once in a rush to go fishing after supper at the lake just down the road. We had our knives, rods, cooler of beer and bait, but.... we forgot the canoe, as neither one of us thought to toss the thing onto the racks of the pickup.
