I was wondering how many people have had to use there knife for self defense.

Have you ever had to pull your knife on someone to protect yourself?

I don't really carry a knife to protect myself and have never had to pull a knife on anyone.
Hope I never have to.

How about you?

Hey Pahl :).., yes actually I've pulled a Jody Samson Boot-Knife on myself about (4) times at Knife Shows.

When I see a knife I want very badly.., and know I can't afford it..., I simply take out Mr. Samson's knife and plunge it into my thigh.

Of the (4) times I have used this strategy.., it worked twice.., because the Knife Show was over when I was released from the Emergency Room. Sadly.., the other two times I used this method on Saturday instead of Sunday...allowing me to limp back to make the unauthorized purchase.. :(

You see my girlfriend has somewhat of a problem when I come home with a little bag of knives that cost more than her car.... ..., (go figure)...?? So.., this self-impalement is a form of self-defense from her wrath..., although it is ineffective unless timed perfectly at about 2:30 on Sunday...

Hi,
I did some searching.
I thought maybe there would be some new members with something to add.
Maybe not :(

ExamonLyf: ROFL :)

ExamonLyf, it seems to me that the best solution would be to make sure your GF gets a more expensive car. Next time you come home with that little bag you can be like "see, this time I only bought a bag worth 1/4 your car's value rather than twice as much." If this works be sure to let me know!:D

I know 2 people who have used knives to defend themselves... Actually a father son team..
My bud was attacked by a guy that had stolen his sisters car.. The guy attacked him with a fence stake!! My buddy shanked him in the ribs with a Benchmade Emerson CQ7.. Collapsed the guys lung, and sent him to the hostpital.. Cops said he was fully justified..
THEN about a year later, his son used a Buck knife to fend off some black kids that were trying to steal his Bike!! He yanked it out and they just LEFT him alone! Knives can REALLY make the difference... If you cant have a gun you might as well have a knife!!!!

I actually shank people all the time! NOT... actually I have pulled blades out on many a person but I have yet to use it. They usually get scared once I wip it out. Just think twice before you actually try to use it... you never know what the other guy has! This kid tried pulling a knife out on me and I chased him with my stun gun! LOL That fool ran like Forest Gump!!!

Once and I didn't like it, I'm leaving out the details because I'm not looking for a law suit, suffice it to say that the guy I sliced,(across the stomach) was in no shape to keep hitting me.

On what planet?

On Earth, when you notice the knife in the hand of someone only 5 feet away from you, and your gun is still in its holster...

I had to take a Busse Basic to a pretty nasty ling cod I hauled up the other day to get it to calm down. Does that count?

If your Ling Cod is anything like our Cobia, a baseball bat is the prescribed medicine for those bad boys!

I haven't yet needed to even think of pulling my knife. (Though often while walking across parking lots it will be in my hand!)

Exactly..

The foggy point I was trying to make was that you could a) carry your handgun (if it's even legal w/o a concealed permit) or b) you could carry your always effective, much lighter pocket knife that is EASY to carry every single day and nearly every single moment of your life.

OK - all things being equal, a gun is still more menacing. I can out-run a blade, I can't out-run a bullet.

One time a guy whipped out his POS BM ripoff, and told me that he couldn't understand why I would spend so much on a blade when he got "this great knife" for $8.

You bet your assets I used my knife to defend myself. Whipped out my Sebenza, handed it to him. He opened it and said "ohhhhhhh"

I doubt he'll be doing THAT again. ;)
