Just as the title says have you gifted a knife or knives recently?

Last Saturday I gave the man that has done work on our car and truck for quite a while a few knives. He's a member of the family and a friend also.

I gave him a lnib Lone Wolf Longhorn that I won in a GAW, a lnib Skyline damascus with custom scales, a user Spydie se Dfly, and

a se Ladybug. He really liked the Skyline, I know he'll use it.

For $1, I sold my brother a Mnandi that was born on the same day (year included) as his son.

The whole point of me "selling" him the knife is because of the superstition that giving a knife will "cut" the friendship. Silly, I know.

We have that supersition where I'm from as well. Thought this was only a Viet thing!

I have not gifted any knives because of this. Also because well... THEY'RE MINE.

Recently gave a nephew a new knife that I bought before getting interested in higher end products. Once you are used to CRK; Hinderer; Busse, etc., $35.00 folders don't cut the muster. He's 16, and likes the gift.

Gave the father in-law a small 21 with Snakewood inlay. He never knew a pocket knife could be so nice-

I just gave a friend of mine that I was in the military with an inkosi. That makes 4 crk products I've gifted, I will probably keep the rest of them pretty close. Good day

Yup...

Wow lucky people out their any one want to gift it sell me a sebenza for a buck? Hahahha that's great guys I bet they loved their present or "purchase"

I gifted a small Inkosi to a friend as his "wedding" gift.

Figured why should the wife have all the fun!!

I give knives as gifts whenever I can! The last knife I just gave away for no reason was a small custom liner lock (don't remember the maker now) that I gave my brother as a divorce gift:thumbup:

Yes I have, birthdays and just because are the main reasons for me to share my wealth.
I did receive my first gifted knife from a member here and I was overwhelmed. I do believe you reap what you sow.

Yes some patterns I buy thinking I will like the or a color just pops out at me and then after a bit I find out I don't like them or the color isn't for me so yeah I mostly give them away. Guys at work almost all have a decent knife from me and a few of my favorite bartenders too. I figure pass it on man life is to short not to own a nice knife.

I just 'gifted' to a person over in Austrailia a Case Knife and a couple of NIB's Zippo Lighters plus I did the same to AJ over the water in Finland
3 or 4 Zippo's & a Peanut Case Knife.! I send a"few" things across the water through out the year plus here in the States as it just feels good to do this type of good things for people.!** But most people don't know that I do this as we all know what would happen.!? lol You all have a nice day.*

I've sold or gifted all of my knives other than about 15 or 20 of my favorites in the past year(because of health issues).
I didn't gift any CRK's though, just several in the under $100 range.
I did sell a large Regular year 2000 Pheasant Tail, and a 2004 large Regular with the wide jimping this week to a very nice forum member.

Last Christmas all the men in my family got Orange Alox SAK Farmers.
I have also gifted a few others - some Kershaws, ESEE Izula II, Opinels, etc.

I always wanted to gift a friend a Sebenza but I test them out first and hand them a sebenza to see how they will respond and they just kinda look at it and they don't think (or know) it is special.

It would be like gifting them a gas station knife. Some people who say they are into knives have a very limited understanding. They might know a Spyderco and yet they never would even notice a uncentered blade. So what is the point in gifting them something they can't apprciate or understand? I even invidted on friend to come to the Blade Show and he went fishing instead.
