I noticed the ads and agree with you about the draw.
Maybe we'll have to start spending more time over on the home forum.

As long as this place doesn't become Las Veg errrr, Knife Forums, then I'm fine with it...
 
If it keeps this place up and running, so be it.

It was not a rash decision. It has been discussed for a while.
 
They are hardly noticed... OH wait....

I see them all the time and click on them constantly. I have bought so many Swiss Army knives, SOGs, throwing knives, Benchmades and Gerbers that I had to start to listen to other guys’ wives and sell some Busses.

That add space must be worth more than game time on Super Bowl Sunday.
 
It doesn't bother me and if we could get more people to pony up the measly $25.00! Geeze I spend more than that at Starbucks everyweek!:rolleyes:
 
I agree with Hammy. Spark shell's out big bucks to keep this place running, and paid subscriptions only help a little. If the little bitty ads will keep it up and running as it is, then I say good deal. Imagine if he closed it down because he decided the cost just wasn't worth it. Where would you go for all the good stuff we get off of here? No where, that's where especially with the friendliness we are all used to.

I third what Hammy said ,,,

the monthly cost of the bandwidth to the server and server maintenence, hosting, etc. that keeps this site going must be astronomical :eek: especially when the extravaganzas are going on.. but i really dont see any problem with the ads, but if it helps to keep this great site up and going,,then i am all for it,,:thumbup: :thumbup:
 
Kind of wish he'd crank them up to the very top. Up and out of the way.

I've just joined recently, but like my experience here so far. I'd hate to see this site shut down! A few ads never killed anybody... completely understand the need to defray costs.
 
Spark has said he is testing them out. Who knows, maybe all the guys panicing about ads will pony up the cash to become a member and prevent ads :D

And maybe one of you guys feel generous and want to upgrade me to platinum since it's gonna expire soon.:rolleyes: :(
 
I know what it costs to keep a place like this going.

I'm very glad to see the ads up.

They will pay to keep us together. And maybe buy Spark a steak dinner once in a while...

Nice going Spark:thumbup: was wondering when you would do it.....

matter of fact I am gonna upgrade to platinum when my renewal comes up :thumbup: :thumbup:

I would rather do that and help out,,,and would rather see everyone else doing it to help out with the expense of keeping this site up and running than to see more and more ads added and cluttering up the site:barf:
