I doused my Kershaw Boa today in Hydraulic fluid and needed to clean it so I took it apart to clean and lube it all up. when I took the scales off it appeared that there was a lot of grease in the cutout where the torsion bar goes in the non clip side scale. I cleaned it all out and oiled all of the parts and put it back together and now it kind of squeaks. I wondered if this is the torsion bar rubbing on the aluminum scale? Was the grease that was in the cutout of the scale supposed to be there? I thought it was just leftover from the fluid I had spilled on my knife before. also how tight do I retighten the allen screws in the pivot. when I cranked them down the blade wouldn't pop open to the lock position. I loosened them up a little and it flies open (but still squeaks when I close it) any suggestions from those that have disassembled their boas or other speed safes?

that grease keeps the torsion bar from rattling around, and making alot of noise. I've read a couple of posts from folks who have cleaned the grease out and had trouble with strange noises and rattles.

thanks!!! now I know. guess I better crack it open again and fill it with some Magnalube. man that was a quick answer thanks again Aramis.
