Will one of the Moderators please correct my grammar typo in the poll question. Its bugging me. TIA.

Yes, :D I ordered the Argonne Assault Combat Grade from Larry Brahms at Bladeart. He responded very quickly to my e-mails. $125.00 Deposit with an estimated 6 week wait for delivery.

However, The Argonne Assault Signature Series seems to be imposible to order. Les Robertson at Roberston Custom Cutlery (Customknives@comcast.net) Has not yet answered any e-mails I have sent. Has anyone been able to get ahold of him?

WTFOver,

When you say "Argonne Assault Signature Series" do you mean the LE version? The Signature knife is the Flying Mojo. If you want the Mojo you email Marc (Contender). If Les doesn't get back to you and you want the Argonne Assault you can always order it from Busse directly for slightly later delivery.

And, yes, I order the Argonne Assault in CG. Also have a Hossom coming this week and hopefully my next Blackwood should be finished soon (and there in another one that should be in the works as well). I don't know how I am going to pay for the Argonne Assault but it is going on Mr. Credit Card for now. Hopefully I can control my spending and save the $800.

Your in nuclear (and non-nuclear) addiction,
Jeff

jyen,

Well here is where I get confused.

As per Marc's post "There will be two flavors of the Argonne Assault. First, there is the Combat Grade which will be 7.5 inches long and features a black coated blade. The Argonne Assault Signature Series will be a very limited run ground by Jerry himself and feature the new Busse Signature Series logo (which is reserved for Busse's made exclusively by Jerry). It will be a whopping 9.5 inches long and be available in either satin or bead blast finish." I figure if he's the Custom Shop Manager then he ought to be in the know. ;)

If you check the new under construction http://www.customknifeshop.com/ site the AASS becomes an AALE??? If you check the Blade Ad it is Argonne Assault Limited Edition Signature Series (AALESS?)

WTFOver,

This is how I understand it.

Argonne Assault CG
Argonne Assault LE
Flying Mojo (Signature Series)

The Argonne Assault comes in two flavors differing in the finish and handle. The LE I would guess would also have the zero edge geometry. The Flying Mojo is the first and only knife in the Signature Series so far guessing from the advertisement.

I think that the Argonne Assaults are going to have the same dimensions, though Marc's post is confusing. I base that conclusion on the pictures because both pictured Argonne Assaults have the same proportions in the handle and guard and the blade lengths look the same too. If one was 2" longer than the other it would either be reflected in the length of the blade in the photo or the guard/handle area would be smaller. I believe that it is the Flying Mojo that is going to be 9.5" If I am wrong I would love for Marc or Jerry to correct me (and if I am right confirmation would be nice too).

Regards,
Jeff

Thanks for the link WTFOver, that's the first time I've seen it. I'm sure that once it's up and running I'll be spending quite a bit of time there :D

The Combat AA blade is going to be 7 1/2" long.
The LE AA blade is going to be 9 1/2" long.
And I'm not sure how long the Mojo's blade is.

Jeff,

You are correct that the Flying Mojo is identified as a Signature Series blade on the new Busse Custom Shop web site.

The Argonne Assault Limited Edition Signature Series (AALESS) will also be a Signature Series as it will "be a very limited run ground by Jerry himself and feature the new Busse Signature Series logo (which is reserved for Busse's made exclusively by Jerry)." So we can see that it is at least an Argonne Assault Signature Series. I can only assume that it gets its additional Limited Edition Signature Series rating because of the following things.

1st: There is a Combat Grade version and as per the old ways upgraded CG's are called LE's. There never was a CG Flying Mojo so no need to use the LE mark on these.

2nd: Later there will be a continuation of the Argonne Assault Limited Edition once Jerry grows tired of grinding them and moves on to other projects. These will be known as Argonne Assault Limited Edition only because they were ground by others and therfore would lose the Busse Signature Series logo.

Now neither Jerry or Marc are giving us a lot of info here so some of this is a shot in the dark

Anyone else want to take a guess?

The FM has an 8" blade, 7" cutting edge & 13.5" OAL. Don't know if Jerry will keep these dimensions on future FM?

Thanks for the picture Ed!
Great perspective on the size of the FM:D

Would you happen to have a SHE you could put next to her?

WFTOver and 1whobuys,

I am still confused. From Marc's post it sounds like the AALE is going to be bigger than the AACG and there are no specifications for the FMSS. But when I look at ths picture on http://www.customknifeshop.com both of the AAs look to have the same proportions which makes me think that they might be the same size. Whereas the FM looks like it has a longer blade.

1whobuys, is your post taken from Marc's?

I would like to get official verification one way or the other, it is driving me nuts

Regards,
Jeff

The ad is Jerry's way of messing with your mind. The knives on the ad appear to be taken separately & then collaged into the ad. That's why the size relationship is off. Don't belive everything you see. :D

I'm hoping to swing more than one of these also.
To afford them I might need to sell all my clothes but if I strap the kydex on just right I think it should cover everything

These do come with kydex don't they? ;):D:D

Yep, got my order in, atleast thats what Marc is telling me :D I want more than one also, but it's just one for now.

Eric, NO THE KYDEX IS NOT ENOUGH!!!! :D
