Similar in structure to the Q's skeletal pattern, this knife is great for light-duty daily carry. In the meantime, I'm dying to buy one - anyone know the street retail cost?

For a look at this knife, go to:

Hi Kysa - pricing for the C67 R has not been set yet, unless Sal & crew have come up with the SRP as of late.

I think there's a typo on the link. Blade steel stated as both VG-10 and ATS-34.

Sorry about any confusion on the Spyderco web page. The C67-R will have a blade of ATS-34. Suggested retail for this model will be in the ball park of $150-$160. Should be available to everyone sometime in April.
Regards,
Rafael

After viewing the picture and seeing the projected price. I think I will be passing on this one. It is an interesting knife. Since I have a great dislike of ATS though this will not be added to the collection. I am sure the info on the site will be corrected very soon.

Whoa! Count this customer out of the price range there. No way this knife costs more than the Military. Sure it's not in the $50-$60 range, RD?

Kysa - the Military retails for $199.95. So it's the other way around!

Rumor has it. It will be priced at $160. retail. There is now way it is worth anything near that IMHO. The military is an apple and oranges comparison I feel. I will go out on a limb and make a prediction. This one will be a big flop! I think a knife like this should be in the $50-$60 range which was what I thought it would be when Kysa and I talked via email a few days ago. I think this is a decided depature from what the Q knife was ment to be. I could be wrong but time will tell. Honestly I feel the time spent on this knife could have been used on one of the other knives we are so excited to see hit the dealers display cases. Considering the military usually is sold to the ELU at say $120. on the high end. I am guessing this knife will sell somewhere around $90. although I could be wrong. With that selling price in mind, how many of you would buy it? Maybe since I have not seen I am way off base here. But am I the only one? I do consider myself a Spyderco fan. considering Spyderco is looking to reduce the number of models and variations and also reduce prices. Does this knife really make sense?

Tom Carey

The C67 may seem a bit expensive to most of you, but when you actually get one in your hands, you might change your mind. This knife is extremely thin and lightweight, and rides in your pocket well for the size of the knife. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that much of the cost os coming from laser cutting and machining the aluminum scales for this model. It is much more sophisticated than the C35, IMHO.
This model will only be produced in batch quantities, so there won't be that many of them around.
I hope this makes sense and answers some of your questions.
Take care,
Rafael

Still holding out for the Secure lock though. I am guessing I may be waiting awhile. Rafael, that does shed some light on things but I still have to question the wisdom of such a knife. It is adding even more models in the line up at a time when reduction of models is being looked at. I still does not make a lot of sense. This to me would be something that should be sold through a custom shop. I really think the custom shop idea should be a high priority. There seems to be great interest in it. I know I am very excited about the idea.

It was my understanding that only the ATS 34 Militarys were reduced in price, since they are being discontinued. I was told that the CPM440v models will remain at the old price.
I also heard that there were only about 200 of the ATS 34 models left.

Have I been given bad information, or is that really the situation?

Thanks for listening!

We reduced the price on the ATS-34, then when those were taken out of production and the last of them shipped, the GPE's (440V) were reduced also. Retail price..right now..$149.95. Verified this through sales, just to make sure.

Tom,
You are right in many respects regarding the C67-R. That is why we will only be producing this model in a 1200 piece batch. This way the people that really want one can have them, and when they are all sold .... they'll be history. I can't wait to see the response one the knife hits the streets.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Rafael
