It's a ZT 0561. Last seen on Saturday hanging gutters on deck roof. Has scrape marks on the end of the blade from opening beer cans.....
So, tonight, my wife and I took the dog on a hike and before we left, I went to grab my ZT and realized that I had zero idea where it was. Looked in a couple of obvious locations with no luck and headed out the door.
After the hike, I immediately started looking for it. Toolbox, nope. Backyard, nope. Couch cushions, nope. Ahhhh... The trash. I must have picked it up and pitched with the other junk and pitched it into the trash. After searching the "dry trash" maybe, just maybe it was in the kitchen "wet" trash. Pulled that bag open and despite the coffee grinds, egg shells, rotten fruit, yogurt containers and other nastiness, no knife.
At that point, I figured the damn thing was simply gone. Pissed, I grabbed a beer, pounded it, grabbed another and sat on the couch to pout.
That my friends is when genius hit.... Maybe just maybe I didn't take it out of my pocket when I changed out of my work clothes. I'd already done laundry so those shorts were clean and there was no ZT in them. I grabbed the laundry basket, started pulling clothes out and I'll be damned if the ZT wasn't at the bottom of the basket.
I feel kind of dumb for not looking there earlier but damn am I glad it turned back up.
Just thought I'd share it with you guys. It isn't my favorite, or most expensive knife but it gets a lot of pocket time as my go to beater and losing it would have really sucked it.
