I finally got down to actually putting an edge on my 2009 BFC knife and can tell you working that D2 is a labor of love boy:eek: When I first got the knife it had an okay edge on it but not anywheres near how I like my knives to be. I remember starting to work on her with the coarsest stone that comes with a Sharpmaker (IIRC only a medium)and giving up till I could get some diamonds (lol made me realize how futile the job would have been with mediums). Well that was just under 2 years ago:D Fast forward to present > Got the clip real sweet now and the wharnie is almost there. I can tell that the edge holding properties of this knife is gonna be out of this world! Oh and you guessed it she's been in my pocket for the last 3 days.....second honeymoon:o Yeah I feel real  about it lol.

Mine came with the usual vandalism that Queen calls an edge. Both blades spent some quality time on a DMT Extra Coarse diamond hone shortly after arrival, and I've been carrying it every day since then. Earlier today I was just debating regrinding the blades to thin them down to something more useful.

I sharpened mine on a belt sander and finished with a leather stropping belt, D2 does take time, even on a belt sander. I love carrying this knife.

Mine actually came pretty sharp, for a Queen.
I've had to sharpen it twice since I got it, but it's probably been my most-used slipjoint for that entire time as well.
