on 09/11 i was home sleeping after nightshift to 16:00h European Time / ~ 9.30 in NY.
when i woke up i made breakfast and because my family were out with the dog, i had time to look television.

You know what i saw.

What happened there made almost anything in our life different from before!

But i want to talk about one small personal change here:
(first i checked over my guns, but that are not my EDC)

since 09/11 i changed from knives up to 4" to my Sifu or Vaqero Grande as EDC - backed up with a fixed mostly.

I make it sure to have my Supertool and a flashlight with me anytime.

"Just in case"

It will not work anytime but it may give me a chance.

I was pondering this same question. It has changed my EDC somewhat. I always have a multitool and knife on me. I would sometimes carry a cheaper, FRN knife because I didn't want to abuse my decent knives. I started asking myself "what knife would you carry if your life depended on it?" I now carry a good knife wherever I go, all the time. I may carry a beater in addition to the good one, but I will always have an excellent knife with me if I can.

I've done the opposite. On the weekends, I used to carry my 710 or Military even though the limit in Denver is 3.5 inches. Now that things are a little tighter around here, I'm sticking with my Carnie Cub as a serious knife and probably just using my "office" knives all the time: a Lum Chinese, a Meerkat, etc.

Hasn't "changed", but I'm a lot more careful not to leave in the morning without my edc's. Ya never knowm having a knife might just save your life and many others as well. If nothing else they give me a nice false sense of security :)

I am always fairly well prepared, it is normal for my occupation (LEO). I am also working on my doctorate and when I'm at school, all the goodies except my sebenza go in my backpack. I have added a flashlight (surefire) to my offduty carry.
Stay safe,
Chad

Actually, I did change my support side carry. I went back to an Emerson "Tanto" from an MT LUDT. I'd planned the change prior to that due to the new law in Florida, but just hadn't done it yet. The larger blade was what pushed it over the edge.

Changed? not too much, but I've decided to also add a slightly bigger knife in my daily carry mix, because you just never know.
I used to travel by plane a lot and always carried a knife on board, now with them defanging the goodguys as well as the bad guys, I'm thinking of making a nice solid steel throwing dart, make that two, that will fit in my dayplanner and would look like it was part of the binding, but not!
I can throw a knife very well and just about any thing else for that matter, but if you throw your weapon you better make sure you have something to back it up!

I have an LCC in my left hip pocket lately...heck it's heavy enough to do damage if you just hit someone with it! ;)

Yesterday I went to an amusement park and didn't carry anythning:( because I was afraid that they'd search us at the entrance and I didn't want to walk all the way back to the car.

That's a shame because it could be my ONLY defence against a dangerous person.

My knife EDC hasn't changed, but I started taking advantage of my CCW by carrying my 1965 vintage S&W 36 (vintage stag grips too!). I load it with the proverbial "FBI" load (158gr LSWC-HP +P). I also carry a Bianchi Speedstrip with 6 more rounds of the same. This load is a touch high at 15yds with the fixed sights.

I have not changed my selection criteria because already before this abhorrent acts of terrorism I was aware about the fact that there are many mentally ill persons around us.
