Hi all.
Well...my kids are off working and with friends. so, i am cooking dinner and staring at my computer. I wasn't going to post due to non-JK content. but John, you'll have to forgive me, but i decided to hang with some friends (that's you guys).

A BF member saw my burlap and sent me one of his knives to handle up. This was 3 months ago. He was very patient. But, at last, i have a finished product.

Of course, the motor on my drill press blew just as i was ready to put the final touches on. There's always something. But, with that said, i am pleased with the outcome. i used a different color burlap this time, and i am liking the color scheme.

this stuff does get everywhere. my boys said they could see where my goggle strap was on the back of my head. yup. everywhere.

Thanks John. Hey...did you ever get a chance to use the slabs i gave to you at the gathering? I actually think i am going to use the wood you gave me on that new VT Hunter that's coming.

I`m actually working on a new, somewhat tactical model that I will be using them on right now.

Can't wait to see how it turns out. I am looking forward to the JK VTH project. Though, i gotta figure out what i am going to do about my drill press. I might have to go to plan B.

That turned out really nice. I love the textured look. Are they slick or grippy?

Bummer about the drill press motor, but damn that green micarta is beautiful Todd.
Did you make it?
Either way it goes with the tan very nicely, good job on the handling, the owner of the knife should be very happy with that one.

Great job on that handle, the green burlap looks good!

thanks guys. and yes, i made the scales out of burlap and fiberglass resin.

thanks Mack. they tend to be pretty grippy, due to the high resin content (and the burlap itself).

I like it. Green is a great color for handles and grippy is always good.
Add to that the fact that they look good and you have a guaranteed winner.

Wow!! Great job Todd! That really looks great man. I love that green burlap.

thanks guys. just got back from a quick escape with my boys back home to do some striper fishing and see some long time friends. came home to my new JK Vermont Hunter. Woohoo!

Sweet! Can't wait to see what kind of handle you choose for it.

Hey Todd - good to see you posting -

Your scale material looks 3d - very nice!

Great job on the scales - the knife looks great with that material on it!

best
