hey all

i have a few designs that i would like to make into reality

unfortunately i do not have the equipment or time to grind out a clean blade and heat treat it (lack of $$) but i do have the equipment to make a clean framelock and scale of almost any material

does anyone know where i could go about getting just the blades made? I wanted 3 total - 1095 w/ hamon, s90v and cts-xhp steel all heat treated around 58 rockwell (would that be correct)

if anyone has any idea where to get this done please let me know! thanks!!

If it was me, I would look at all the Knifemakers forums and see if any of them make something similar to what you want. Then you have must determine if they will built your design. Some makers only built knives they have designed and will not do custom orders. OR you could read all the "Stickies" in this forum, buy a piece of steel, some files and sandpaper and make your own. You can always send it out for the Heat treating. That is what I'm doing.

where are you sending yours out to heat treat?

i will most likely go the route you mentioned and just do it myself i sure have the time!
