I wanted to get a daggar so, I found two options.
1. FOX knives | elementum daggar (N690co, $85)

2. Boker plus | Omerta (D2, $65)

I think it's really about better steel or more reasonable price but, I would like to know what you would choose.

I like the sleek look of the Boker, but if you plan to use one for defense, the FOX has a guard that would be better suited for piercing. If it's just a novelty, or you want a dagger just to have for cutting normal daily stuff, then the Boker gets my vote.

Do you think not having a guard could be a big issue when it needs to pierce something?

Many daggers and dedicated piercing blades have pronounced guards to prevent your hand from slipping forward onto the blade when it meets resistance. Getting through hide or clothing can require significant force to get through so a guard gives more support to the thrust beyond just grip strength. At least thats how I understand the design.

I’ve found Fox’s build quality is superior to Boker Plus. That said, I’d suggest the standard Blade Forums response: Buy them both and return the one you don’t like.
