Having a missing jigged bone scale replaced?

I purchased it because I thought it would look really interesting in my vintage knife collection. Not really for value. The shield struck me as very unusual for this type of knife (and struck a chord with my occasionally medieval heart also).

Sometimes I do use some of my old knifes carefully if they are not in incredibly new, good condition. I never have lost a good or vintage knife in my life, so I don't see why it hurts.

Mr. DeShivs,

That's the problem. I'm pretty good at replacing handles myself (ONLY if they are wood, horn or plain white bone). I don't know how to make jigged bone that will match though, but I suspect I may have to learn (or teach myself).

Really? This is great place to show off your skill. You should post pictures of some examples of your work.

Perhaps I can help you on the forum, then. If I do the experimentation to match the jigging and the color, I would have to charge for my time. Let me know how I can help, after you get the knife. Take good closeups of the existing scale.
