Having a tough time deciding...

...between a ZT 030x and a ZT 0200.

I'm not ooking for it to be an EDC knife as I have some others more preferrred for that but for outdoor/camping/hiking use.

It essentially is gonna replace my RC-4 fixed blade. Now I get that some things just need a fixed blade but I work with kids and the organization has an under 4" blade limit(I can cheat a little) and frowns on a knife hanging off my side. Sucks, I know....:thumbdn:

Narrowed it down to the two ZTs partly because I havent tried one and they seem over-built.

If money is no object, go for the more expensive model. In this business, you usually get what you pay for. Especially if your only options are from the ZT line. The 0300 looks incredibly tough.

Another piece of advice, don't try and replace a fixed blade with a folding knife. The expectations and limitations involved are different from knife to knife, user to user, and you may be disappointed.

Without even owning one, I would say (from second hand experience) that there aren't many blades that can replace an RC-4, especially among the folding variety.

I'd check the for sale sention and jump on the first one that comes up as value. Let the marketplace make your decision.

Kinda of an old thread...I've since gotten a 0200. Its a beast and will handle just about anything I plan to throw at it I'm sure.

Still gonna get an 030x...:thumbup:
