Been making quite a few today....learning the tricks pretty quickly...

Here are some I made for a few of my knives...they work a treat! Now who can send me a swag of chicago screws...:( ;)

Hey Gundy, how are you securing your eyelets without scratching the coating off of them? That seems to be my problem lately.

Thanks for the info.

Sweet!!

How many have you made? You have definitely gotten the hang of it.

What are your belt attachments like?

Also, what kind/size eyelets do you need? I've got several sources.

Wiggum, I actually use a small peice of chees cloth (is that it?) on the top or front of the eyelet. The back still gets scratched a bit, but but the nice part looks new.

Andrew, I have only made 9 - all on Sunday. As far as belt attachments go, I havent done any yet. I have been using tekloks. I will look into it this week, but I like onscenes belt loops the best.

Do not need any eyelets, I found 'Paskal' eyelets available locally, they are awesome! SP0 is the size. I need those little chicago screws. The ones with the alloy base (like a mushroom) and the black phillips head screw. I beleive that they come in packs of 100 or something. If you could hook me up with those Andrew I would appreciate it. But many places do not take international c/c these days so I may need some help in obtaining.

Thx for the comments guys, the top pic pictured is actually a stuff up. I made the eyelets too close to the blade edge and as it is a hatchet style knife, it needs a lot of room to exit the sheath properly. I was about to scrap it and then thought of making it front draw release. It works great now! Very fast and very effective.

Also, I do not plan on making this a business and only make sheaths for myself...Nobody else does it down under!

This is the best combo I have found...I use a cheap and very simple hydraulic press with high ratio. I have also done this with same effect by standing on it (but do not move!!! The fit seems to loosen up).

2" of sleeping pad foam top and bottom. 2" of pine at top/bottom. Between each peice of sleeping pad foam, use 2" "Instrument foam" both top and bottom, this will do the molding. I tried all foams on test peices and this is by far the best for me.

:footinmou I meant chicago screws. I buy them with both sides dark and both sides with wide heads. I get them at knifekits.com . Another upside of these eyelets is that they are stainless steel and very strong.
