So I just got my refund check from the government and I promised myself I'd buy myself a present because....well because I got a refund check from the government:D

I've wanted a new 'hawk to play with and I've got myself torn between two of them and I'm having a hell of a time picking. Hopefully somebody out there can help me out

I'm thinking of the shipbuilder's axe from H&B Forge http://www.hbforge.com/specialty-axes/ship-builders-axe. I already have a medium camp axe from H&B and really like the quality and know what to expect, but at the same time I already have something from H&B

The other is a hawk from Walk By Faith forge http://www.walkbyfaith777.com/tttcustom.html. Specifically the Style P blade and Style 6 hammer poll. I've heard some good things about the product they produce, and their hawks look gorgeous.

You can tell I like bearded hawks, especially if I'm clearing brush or small branches and saplings that beard makes a handy little hook for the stuff I'm clearing. I'm planning on using whichever hawk I get for hiking/camping and general small wood-related tasks around the house.

I'd love to buy both, but I don't think I could get away with that.

Although I've always heard great thing about them, I do not own a hb forge hawk, so I cannot speak on them. However, I do own a WBF777 style Q 2 hawk and I love it. Great hawk beautifully executed. I highly recommend them.

The 777 hawks looks very nice.

Just a few days ago, I had the pleasure of putting a 'Longhunter' hawk from 2Hawks through the paces - the thing practically gobbles up wood with ease!

Id been pretty happy with my humble CS hawk prior to testing the Lomghunter, but there is simply NO comparison. Of course its an unfair comparison of sorts, as the Longhunter is a different steel and in another price bracket.

I heartedly recommend the Longhunter.

Thanks for the input, guys. After some more research I decided to go with Walk By Faith. I figured I already had an H&B Forge hawk, so it was time for something different. I'll post some pics in about a month or so when I get it
