I’m using a sharpmaker from Spyderco with medium stones and using the sharpie method I can see that after 5-10 strokes I am taking all the sharpie off of the edge but some how the knife still comes out as dull as a butter knife.
I did notice some chips on the blade so in order to reset the edge I actually had to drag the blade across the stone like a saw
Then once the blade was flat and not chipped again I started to use the corners of my sharpmaker and it refuses to get back to sharp enough to even catch or lift skin
Will getting the diamond stones help me since I basically trying to reproduce the edge since it was severely uneven.
I was planning to either try some diamond stones for the sharp maker or some CBN stones
If that doesn’t work I’m ready to just give up and pay for it to be sharpened
