what happens when you click this link:
http://www.users.qwest.net/~lindfs/Pictures/mbarsteelhead.jpg

and try this:
Picture_Link

Do you see the picture then, or do you get an error. If you get an error, what does it say?

Does Qwest happen to be your Internet provider?

it said to me...your an idiot:D

serioulsy it said, quote

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems

More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds

Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

end quote

Wow ! it didnt seem to say that much on the page:eek:

clear your cache?

How do I do that?

I think that domain (users.qwest.net) or the users domains of Qwest with the tilda are either blocked from your internet providers server for some reason, or they are misreading the address due to the tilda, or the DNS server isn't translating that subdomain correctly.

If you are accessing it from home, I would try and ask your provider about the error....From work- ask your IT dept.

I am curious- are able to access this page?:

http://www.users.qwest.net

clicking that should bring up a quick webpage saying "no index available," then re-direct you to www.qwest.net. If you can access that, and it re-directs you, then I would bet it is the tilda "~" casuing some problem with the server of your internet provider. If you cant even access qwest.net, then they are blocking it for some reason.

Clearing your cache would typically only help if you are seeing the wrong picture. But, it is not a bad idea....here is how to do it:
Clear_Cache_IE

go to tools, internet options, delete files (I think, I don't use IE) You might have to restart the program

I also recommend using Firefox since it is superior ;)

Memtosh45,

It sent me to an ask jeeves page where I found qwest. It redirected me and then it opened.

So, I guess the tilda hypothesis is correct.

WHat does that mean??

thanks To you and Rat F. working on cache now

I think it has to do with your internet provider. I also think the best bet would be to give them a call if possible. This is assuming you are not running your own DNS server, which I am guessing you are not. To be any more help, I would need to know what your current config is regarding how you access the internet.

I also use Firefox and I do think it is better than IE, but I dont think it will make a difference here. This is all happening before it reaches your browser.

PS- sent you a PM regarding green/green saber SFNO- dont know if you got it or not. I see you may be working another deal with it. If my trade/ cash offer did not interest you, I am ready to give your full asking if I have not been beat to it...let me know.

I too have had this exact problem repeatedly. I have cleared everything, re-booted, etc.
Nothing suggested todate has helped.
Ron athay

Ron- did you call your internet provider and ask them about it? It would be interesting to know who you and knifehunter access the internet through (cox, roadrunner, MCI, etc...) It would be very enlightening if you and he both had the same provider.

Ron- do you happen to use Comcast?
