Hawaii knife laws?

Off to the holy land (hawaii!) next week and was hoping that someone could advise me on the state carry laws (blade length, concealment, etc.) I mean, I liked Hawaii 5-0 and all, it's just that I don't want that "special" tour

And before any of you get jealous, I'm flying 9-11 hours with my 9 and 3 year olds. A special prayer from the other fathers would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

When I was at the University of Hawaii back in '95 I called the police department regarding knife laws, specifically blade length limitations. They said that there were none, but that Hawaii law prohibited carrying dirks or daggers. As to the definition of a dirk or dagger under Hawaii law, it is probably as flexible as it is in California (if you can stab with it, it is a dirk or dagger).

Knife laws might have changed since then, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just don't carry anything too big.

No dirks or Daggers (double edges), A freind of mine is a Sheriff and has stories of all kinds of stuff people carry to the courthouse (sorry sir you'll have to leave the machete here....But I need this one for my work...)

Luria, you have a great chance to pick up some of that koa wood. That would be some neat stuff to put back for a special project.

Knife laws, if you look up Hawaii revised statues and look under the 134 section it might have a listing for weapons. I'm not really good with that stuff.

The HRS (concealed weapons 134.??)clearly states no dirk or dagger, baton, blackjack, and if I remember correctly auto,no blade length restiction, catch all sentence "or any other weapon" (for martial art weapons) when you get in town call the PD and ask. One of the guys who moved here in my class did the same and was advised "no blade length restriction,no double edge"
