Depends on where you are at. I know here in Georgia there is no mention to my knowledge of tomahawks anywhere. There is this:
16-11-126.
(a) A person commits the offense of carrying a concealed weapon when such person knowingly has or carries about his or her person, unless in an open manner and fully exposed to view, any bludgeon, metal knuckles, firearm, knife designed for the purpose of offense and defense, or any other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument of like character outside of his or her home or place of business, except as permitted under this Code section.
I suppose it could be construed under bludgeon, although technically it isnt. But do notice what it says about "unless in an open manner and fully exposed to view." Technically I suppose you could, and I have, with no strange stares or looks, but in the city...well...they could possibly get you for "disturbing the peace." My thoughts on it all is: "Well, everyone else can legally carry one too, they just choose not to, so they shouldnt feel like they aren't safe." Whats so bad about this is that I carry a pistol as well, and can carried concealed, but they would be concerned about the tomahawk. Anyway, my thoughts dont hold up in court, so...yeah. Take it for what its worth. I believe Texas specifically outlaws tomahawk carry, but you'll have to look it up. Go to
www.packing.org and there is a link to different weapons laws.
