Hawk design origins

Does anyone know of any good books, or online sources, for information regarding tomahawk designs favored by different indiginous tribes? For example, are those offered as "Apache Tomahawks" representative of those used by Apaches? Is Gibson's hawk in "The Patriot" really a Cherokee design? Any help is very much appreciated.

I think you will find that most of the Hawks that are used by one tribe or another were made in Europe and traded to the Indians.
My company has been making Hawks for 30 some years and in my travels I have seen some of my hawks in displays at old forts and they were labeled as if they were originals found at the fort.
I guess if the public seeing these displays is happy thats what counts. Maybe the government will open some more sites if the public likes what they see.
