Hawk forge comparisons

So I recently broke my hatchet in half and I've decided to go for a hawk. I was originally looking at more mass produced ones before I was turned onto similarly priced small forge hawks so I was wonder what everyone's opinions were on a few of 'em. I want something with a hammer poll on the back, preferably.

Right now I'm looking at something by

Also gonna ask beaver bill if he can make a throwing hawk with a hammer poll on it for around the same price as the other throwers he has.






I've already talked to Steve from Coal Creek and he's out for the next few months so I'm gonna have to wait there.
 
thanks for the input! I was leaning that direction myself. I've heard that the back of a thrower is totally fine for hammering and that a hammer poll is generally unneeded. Any insight on that? I DO prefer the look of a thrower to a hammer poll, but if there really is that much added functionality to having the hammer I'd go for that and sacrifice aesthetics (and a couple bucks)
 
Ive had a few polled hawks just me but I don't see the need for the extra weight. Unless you need hammer you can live without the poll. Of course this all depends what you plan on using it for just throwing? Lots of choices depending on what your needs are.
 
I had Steve make me my Hawk, with a hammer pole, and it is worth the wait. I do everything with it as well as throw it. Can't go wrong with Coal Creek.....

Multipurpose. Wood cutting, hammering, throwing, occasional self defense. I'm not going to be carrying a hammer around with me :P
