Hawk Handles

I tried but could get the search function to work, if this has been answered please forgive me. I am starting an evening Machinist class at the local Voc College next week. One of the projects I hope to complete is a hardy hole hawk drift.(I hope I am using the correct term) I need to know if there is a "standard size hole" used in hawk craft? Is there a standard degree slope also??
