Just a little filework and she's done. The finish came out different that my usual. Could be the mild steel body of the head wasnt just mild steel. Dunno ?

Looking Good! Is it one solid piece or pieces? Hope to get some pictures of my first smoker in a few hours.....

The thoughts of getting paid by the hour really scares me when I think how much time I have in this.

I cant take credit for the design of the head or the haft other than picking the wood. The customer did a fine design. This is spec piece. Doing spec work really shows you were skills alack :) Needless to say there have been a few in-progress changes. I drilled and filed the wheeping heart,Terry. The head is all one piece of mild steel with a 1 1/2" high carbon bit ,forge welded in place. Did very little clean up on the bowl. I'm proud of that. I've enjoyed doing this project, but I can see the alure of just doing what you want and selling vs taking orders. My hat's off to the fulltime Volks.

Wow Mark, that is great! That's my kinda hawk, your customer has rather excellent taste. :D Looking forward to the finished product...
