Hi everyone just got this sheath for my hawk seems way too tight will it form better over time or is there something I can do for a better fit ? Thanks in advance Rich.

You could take a square file to the bottom welt, personally I would send it back and ask that a proper fitting one be made.

Your photos make it hard to evaluate the problem, but it looks like a design error. If you paid for the sheath, I think I'd request a remake.

Thanks guys I will see if I can get a replacement but if this is how he works doubt if I want another one. If anything I will try to get a refund I have some leather might just give it a go myself I've made 2 myself in the past they weren't very pretty but at least they fit.

Yeah it looks like that button is straining to clasp on. I'd first see if they could send a replacement before you try to modify it. Is that a cold steel trail hawk? Check my cold steel norse hawk sheath. It's simple and gets the job done. Was easy to make, as it just covers the edge. There are a ton of other examples in the Axe, tomahawk, and hatchet forums here.

That's some nice work no it's a 2 hawks and the sheath came from the Mfg. I will see what I can do think maybe a bad one got thru quality control but the snap is way to tight I was gonna try to treat it with some Snoseal and see what happens doubt if that would help. See what the maker says then go from there again that's a nice edge cover.

Good new the Mfg is gonna replace it so looks like I was right. Thanks for the responses
